If you are heading to Gori to check out the Stalin Museum then the best hotel for value, location and pretty much everything else is the Georgia Gold Hotel.
Location wise it is quite literally on Stalin Avenue and next to the park and museum, as well as being close enough to walk to most of the good and indeed bad bars and restaurants in town.

What is the Georgia Gold?
Georgia Gold Hotel is one of the newest proper hotels in Gori, opening in 2024 after years of construction. It was built to cater for the growing number of domestic and international tourists coming to the city, particularly those visiting the Stalin Museum just across the road.
While Gori has plenty of guesthouses and smaller hotels, Georgia Gold has positioned itself as the city’s flagship hotel. It also sits on the same famous avenue where the old Soviet Intourist Hotel once welcomed visitors from across the USSR and beyond, giving the area a long history of hosting tourists.

The Rooms at Georgia Gold
For $60 a night I felt the regular rooms were pretty decent value. Nice big beds, office area etc etc. The kicker for me though was the large balcony AKA smoking area. This not only had a great view of Stalin Park, but also the numerous Georgian flags. Heck I almost felt patriotic, but mainly because it looked English.

Facilities at Georgia Gold
Technically there is a bar and restaurant here, but for the most part it is super simple, as is the breakfast. They did though at least have the football on in reception. The doors do though get closed pretty early, which is a problem if you want to do a vodka run to Spar.

Around Georgia Gold
You’re quite literally next to the museum! Which is the main reason to stay here. It is also central, which means you can get transport to the other main tourist attractions in the city. There is a spa opposite which is open 24 hours and very useful.
The Resto-Bar Black Star is also under 10 minutes walk away and this is honestly a great restaurant that I will be reviewing. Avoid KE&RA like the plague. Somehow these guys have manipulated the internet into thinking they are something great, but it is terrible. Again I will be doing an article.
The best bar within walking distance was the Old Marani. This is also light years ahead of the best god damned bar in Gori!
I will be doing more reviews, but for now anyway, Georgia Gold Hotel in Gori is the best hotel to stay at when you visit Gori.
